Like everything else I do in life, I thought a lot about starting a new blog (I had two last year that I had been maintaining for almost ten years, now deleted), then I just did it. I always expect that people will read my texts, but how can they if I don’t publish them somewhere?
So here it is: my first official post. I hope you like the content, and that you return every week to see what I came up with. But if you don’t, I’ll still wish for you all the happiness in the world. That’s one of the things you should expect: my always present optimism.
Another thing you can count on me to do is always writing what I think you should know – about me, about the world that surrounds me, about the aspects of life I don’t quite understand. It frustrates me that there are certain things I will never be able to express simply because there are no words for it, or sentiments that I will never be able to transmit because they are too personal. But I will always try to get as close to it as I can.
Maybe I should contextualize my future posts by telling you that I am 24 years old, and I finished university last year (2014), earning a graduate degree in journalism through a Brazilian institution. Now I live in Belgium, the place where I was born, and I am ready to embrace the world as fully as I can. Should you turn into a regular visitor, you’ll get a glimpse of my journey as I live it.
I am posting a personal picture of me above so you can have an idea of how I look like, but I won’t be doing this on a regular basis because I don’t believe I should be the focus of my blog, but rather my texts and eventually my photos.
I honestly hope you’ll love it. If you don’t and think I should know, or if you do and you want to express it, or if you have an idea of what I could talk about, or if you want to comment about anything at all – summarizing: if you want to be in contact with me, send me a message through the “Contact” page, or write to gabrielle(at)athousandepiphanies(dot)com.
Other than that, I have one more thing to say: I wish that you don’t get what you expect from this blog, but instead that you are surprised with every post. And that you carry those expectations to life: that it always surprises you in the best possible way. It just makes it more adventurous, doesn’t it?
